The Birthplace of B.C. Gallery was established by Brenda and Kurt Alberts in 1996 to promote British Columbia artists. Since its establishment the Gallery has been recognized with a number of awards.
In 1998 the Langley and District Chamber of Commerce honoured the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery with the Small Business of the Year Award.
The Gallery published an art/history book, “Langley 125: A Celebration” that received a Heritage Conservation Award from the British Columbia Heritage Society.
Many of the Gallery’s artists have received awards for their paintings.
The Birthplace of B.C. Gallery continues to display the Best of the Best in artwork.
The Gallery hosts many events including Fine Art/Fine Dining evenings, Demo nights, the Great Demo Challenge, Special Previews, Garden and Wedding Parties, and Workshops in addition to many Artists’ Exhibitions throughout the year.
The Gallery is in its 15th year and is a vibrant part of the social fabric of the Lower Mainland art scene.
The Birthplace of B.C. Gallery is located in a heritage character building at 9054 Glover Road in historic Fort Langley, not far from where the Hudson’s Bay Company arrived in 1827 to establish a post and a settlement.
