NOV 11: Remembrance Day Service in Fort Langley

The Birthplace of B.C. Gallery will be closed on Thursday November 11 to respect Remembrance Day.
Gallery owner, Brenda Alberts, was instrumental in reviving an annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Fort Langley cenotaph eleven years ago. The annual service had been discontinued for a number of years. In 1999, Brenda and veteran, Gordie Gillard held their own service at the cenotaph across the road from the gallery. The following year, a few others joined them and each subsequent year the attendance has grown. Last year the number had grown to a couple thousand.
Other volunteers have joined Brenda and Gordie in planning the service which starts at 10:30 am in the Fort Langley Cemetery on Glover Road and will once again include a “fly past” by The Fraser Blues. Cole Armour will sing Amazing Grace. Those wishing to be part of the possession to the cemetery should gather at the Fort Langley Community Hall by 10 am.
