More public amenities for Fort Langley’s waterfront

Parklane Homes has finally been given the green light to complete the last 3 building sites in their award-winning Bedford Landing neighbourhood.
The other 205 building sites, already occupied or under construction, include 183 single family homes, 21 row home blocks and one age-restricted apartment building.
Parklane was the recent recipient of a Heritage Conservation Award for incorporating many heritage features into the new neighbourhood located on the former McDonald Cedar Mill site. In addition to naming streets after local pioneers, installing interpretive signage and incorporating artifacts from the mill, Bedford Landing includes an extensive public trail system, a waterfront linear park for the Fort to Fort Trail and a 40 ac conservation area adjacent to the mouth of the Salmon River.

The Township of Langley has approved plans for a live-work studio complex with commercial frontage on Billy Brown Road (some units specifically designed for B&Bs) and 2 waterfront apartment buildings with a small commercial space. Plans also include more amenities for Fort Langley’s waterfront.
The first class rowing/paddling facility on the water was previously made possible because Parklane increased its contribution. Parklane was also responsible for dredging the channel which has allowed Fort Langley to become one of the country’s best venues for competitive rowing.
The completion of the 3 remaining building sites will also bring additional boat storage, park space, playgrounds, parking, and a new outdoor public plaza plus a bandstand/stage deck space.
