HERITAGE MATTERS: St Andrew’s 125 Celebration

Painting by Al Colton -- Bench donated by Parklane Homes

Next weekend, St Andrew’s United Church in Fort Langley will celebrate 125 years of service. Weekend celebrations (Sept 24 – 26, 2010) include musical memories, anniversary tea, open house and a pioneer worship service.
Yesterday, church volunteers installed a new bench in front of the sanctuary entrance. The $1,500 bench was donated by Parklane Homes (Bedford Landing).
Both St Andrew’s and Parklane were recipients of Heritage Conservation Awards earlier this year. St. Andrew’s for preservation of the sanctuary with a new foundation and Parklane Homes for incorporation of many heritage features into the Bedford Landing neighbourhood.
Al Colton’s show of new paintings, Heritage Matters, opens next weekend at the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery. The show includes Colton’s painting shown above, “St Andrew’s 125”. CLICK HERE for a SHOW PREVIEW
