Art on Ice: Wylie paints tribute to King Richard

Canucks alumnus, super goalie, Richard Brodeur painted by Alan Wylie


The upcoming exhibition “Art On Ice” at the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery will include guest artist, Richard Brodeur. He is better known as the superstar goalie, “King Richard”, for eight seasons with the Vancouver Canucks. Richard, the artist, first on the ice and now on canvas, continues to score. Starting with art lessons in the off seasons and finally trading his hockey sticks for paint brushs, Richard creates paintings from his upbringing in Quebec and his love for Canada’s game. Internationally recognized artist, Alan Wylie, has paid tribute to Richard Brodeur with a new painting “King Richard” for the Art on Ice Show. Prior to the show’s weekend opening, there will be a “Hockey Night in Gallery” on Thursday March 25 to meet Richard Brodeur.
