VILLAGE NEWS: Waterfront trail link started today

Start of trail construction in front of Jacob Haldi House (Bedford House Restaurant)

Construction commenced today on the final missing link of the popular Fort to Fort Trail. The new section of trail will connect Marina Park to Glover Road in front of the Bedford House Restaurant (Jacob Haldi House). The connection has been in Fort Langley’s official plan for almost a quarter century.
The implementation of the trail plan was made possible by Langley Township’s purchase of the one acre waterfront property adjacent to Marina Park.
With the closure of the Albion Ferry, the village has become much more pedestrian friendly and safer for the trail crossing at Glover Road.
With the opening of the Golden Ears Bridge the Fort to Fort Trail has become part of the Trans Canada Trail. The Township and Metro Vancouver Parks will soon build a trail connection from Derby Reach to the new bridge.
